Acceptable Use Policy
1Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to every API registered on Gatefare and to every request routed through a Proxy URL. The AUP is part of our Terms of Service. Violations can result in immediate suspension, permanent removal, reversal of pending payouts, and reporting to competent authorities.
2Strictly Prohibited Content
You must not publish, host, or route through Gatefare any API that provides access to, generates, or distributes:
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), including AI-generated or cartoon depictions of minors in sexual contexts;
- Non-consensual intimate imagery ("revenge porn") or deepfake sexual content of identifiable real people;
- Content that sexually exploits, grooms, or endangers minors;
- Incitement to, planning of, or instructions for terrorism, mass violence, or the manufacture of weapons of mass destruction (biological, chemical, nuclear, radiological);
- Content glorifying or promoting genocide, ethnic cleansing, or violent extremism;
- Human trafficking, smuggling, forced labor, or organ trafficking services;
- Doxxing, stalking tools, or APIs whose sole purpose is to reveal non-public personal data;
- Malware, ransomware, exploit kits, credential stuffing lists, or stolen credit card / bank credentials;
- Live markets for illicit drugs, firearms, explosives, or any item illegal to sell to the general public.
3Prohibited Commercial Activity
- Sanctions-evasion, money laundering, terrorist financing, or any activity subject to OFAC/EU/UK/UN sanctions;
- Unlicensed financial services: securities, commodity derivatives, money transmission, or pool-betting systems operating without the licenses required in the Consumer's or Publisher's jurisdiction;
- Ponzi schemes, pyramid schemes, high-yield investment programs (HYIPs), or token pump-and-dump services;
- Sale of prescription medication without a valid prescription, or of controlled substances;
- Unauthorized resale of paid third-party APIs (e.g., re-selling OpenAI, Anthropic, or other licensed endpoints against those providers' terms);
- Gambling or sweepstakes services operating without required licenses.
4Prohibited Technical Behavior
- Using Gatefare to launch, relay, or amplify denial-of-service attacks, credential brute-force, scraping that violates a target site's ToS, port scanning, or other network abuse;
- Registering Target URLs pointing to internal/private networks (RFC1918, link-local, loopback, metadata endpoints) or to Gatefare itself;
- Circumventing the platform fee, the split contract, rate limits, moderation, or suspension (including re-registering under a new slug after removal);
- Attempting to exploit, reverse engineer, or interfere with the x402 facilitator, our proxy, or any blockchain infrastructure we use;
- Uploading or routing personal data you are not authorized to process, or data subject to HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or PSD2 without the required controls and contracts.
5Regulated Content
The following categories are not banned outright, but require the Publisher to: (a) serve only jurisdictions where the Target API is lawful, (b) block access from jurisdictions where it is not, and (c) obtain any licenses or age-verification required:
- Adult (18+) content involving exclusively consenting adults — must label clearly, must age-gate, must not be discoverable to minors;
- Firearms-adjacent, vape, tobacco, alcohol, or cannabis information services;
- Political advertising, lobbying lists, or voter data;
- Credit reports, background checks, or people-search services — only where permitted and with GLBA/FCRA/DPA-equivalent compliance.
Gatefare may require additional disclosures or documentation before allowing regulated content to remain listed.
6Intellectual Property & Impersonation
- Do not register a Target API that mirrors, scrapes, or repackages a third-party API without the IP owner's written authorization;
- Do not impersonate another brand, company, or individual in your API name, description, slug, or proxy URL;
- Do not return Content that infringes copyright, trademark, right of publicity, or trade-secret rights of a third party.
If we receive a credible IP complaint under our DMCA / Abuse policy, we will remove or disable the allegedly infringing listing while the complaint is being evaluated.
7Enforcement
Enforcement is graduated but the severity of the violation controls the severity of the response. We may, at our sole discretion:
- Remove or hide a listing from the public catalog;
- Return HTTP 451 ("Unavailable For Legal Reasons") from the Proxy URL;
- Freeze pending payouts and refuse to facilitate new payments;
- Permanently ban the account, block re-registration, and notify payment, blockchain, and law-enforcement partners where required;
- Preserve logs, metadata, and reporter information for investigative and legal purposes.
8Reporting
Report suspected violations via our Abuse & DMCA page or by email to [email protected]. For CSAM, contact the appropriate hotline in your country (NCMEC in the US, IWF in the UK/EU, INHOPE elsewhere) and notify us so we can take immediate action.
